I know...

Well, this is my first blog. I figure that the true purpose of a blog is to, in fact, publicize my inner thoughts. The man behind the curtain if you will. I enjoy the fact that I know a lot! First off, I know that God exists and that He is our Father. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to the Earth to atone for the sins of mankind. After Christ's crucifixion and subsequent resurecction, the church which He had formed, with it's prophets and apostles, fell into disarray and apostasy. Not until 1820, in a small town in New York did the Lord speak again. There, an obscure, common 14 year old boy knelt down in sincere prayer and asked the Lord which church he was to join. Then, something marvelous happened; something that had not happened for thousands of years. The boy saw a light, exactly above his head, decend gradually until it rested on him. In that light, he saw two people. One of them spoke, calling him by name and said, pointing to other, "Joseph Simth, this is my Beloved Son. Hear Him!" Stop reading for a second and think of that, let it sink into your heart... In the Bible, we read about how the Lord appered to men and boys, calling them to specific and important mission. Once again, Heavenly Father and the Savior of mankind came to this lad. And for Joseph, they had a very important mission. They told him not to join any religion, because they were all wrong and confused. The true gospel, they said, Joseph would help to revele. And so he did. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, just like Abraham, Moses, or Isaiah. As proof of his divine calling, Joseph translated the Book of Mormon from a set of gold plates. This book contains a record of a people who lived on the American Continent during the same time as those in the Bible. Both books are true and come from God. I know all this, not because I have studied it and that it's academically resonable, but because I have prayed and asked God if these things are ture. And He answered me! I didn't hear His voice or see any angeles, but through the Holy Ghost, through my heart, I know that these things are true. I know that even today, God has blessed us with a prophet to guide us. His name is Thomas S. Monson. I love my Heavenly Father, and I am thankful for all that He has made kown unto me.
